PUBLISHED:  Mar 23, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Four-Time Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Karrin Allyson continues to bring a fresh and smooth approach to her live performances as well as records. Allyson's current CD "Round Midnight" is a 'after hours' recording in which she performs jazz standard by the likes of Duke Ellington to Bill Evans to music wordsmith Stephen Sondheim. This is also the very first time Karrin also played piano on the entire CD.

Karrin grew up in Omaha, Nebraska where she got the music bug early performing in her father's church and through the musical instruction she got through her mother who was teacher and classical pianist. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she got exposed to jazz music via her professor who played her the landmark Cannonball Adderley/Nancy Wilson recording. From that day on Karrin decided she wanted to perform music the rest of her life.

In the early 1990's Karri moved to Kansas City, Kansas where she ended up landing a record deal on the famed Concord Records label, which continues to record on to this day, and recorded her debut record "I Didn't Know About You" to rave reviews. In her eleven recordings in over 20 years, Karrin sings fluently in five languages and has performed all genres of music.

Karrin is currently on tour. For upcoming show info or to order her music, please visit her online at www.karrin.com.
