UK band KamaDeva have been whipping up a storm across the UK and Europe with their live shows and TV appearances.
With their powerful stage presence and refreshingly unique and contemporary take on the New Wave sound they are being hailed as major new talent by all who have heard them.
Fronted by the enigmatic and unpredictable Welsh born JJ Stanness, whose prom dress-and-bunches sweetness are streaked with a darkness betraying her former life as a mordantly satirical writer and actress with comedy partner Julia Davis (Nighty Night).
Fans have likened her voice to Patti Smith and whilst they share a smokily compelling penetration, JJ reveals her individuality with seductive, soaring and at times touchingly vulnerable vocals.
After a long run of successful gigs in the UK including support slots with the likes of The Boxer Rebellion, The Joy Formidable, The Fall, Supergrass and The Holloways among others, KamaDeva headed out to Germany to begin the first of four German tours appearing on National TV and radio and soon becoming hot favourites on the Berlin scene. They released their debut album "Disgrace" first in Germany, Austria and Switzerland then last year in the UK.
JJ and Pete re-located to Berlin in the summer and are currently working hard on their second album which is due for release in 2012.
