The Joy Dragland Band performed at Lower East Side's music venue, Rockwood Music Hall on Saturday, September 12th, 2015.

a minnesota native with arctic scandinavian blood, dragland's musical career started as a child behind the drums in her dad's band.
the gig did not pay well.
she also learned piano, violin & guitar.
she sang at church & in the yard, under the bed & in the bath.
she liked crystal gayle & dolly parton and eventually a lot of other, less glamorous people.
she studied with richard davis at university, played a presidential rally, wrote & recorded three pop records with frequent collaborator leo sidran with whom she toured europe & japan, formed, art directed & performed in a madonna review and weekly cabaret show, wrote & produced two solo albums, co-wrote & collaborated and/or performed with many others & has shared the stage with acts as diverse as rupaul, suzanne vega, ben sidran, bettye lavette, melissa ethridge & shirley manson.
she also is featured in the commercial world, most recently as the voice of Glade.
her spirit animal is the otter.
