The Toddle was a popular dance step that started in 1917 and reached it's peak in the early 1920s. It was one of the jazz dance crazes that was replaced by the Charleston in 1922. It was considered by some as scandalous in it's time as were similar jazz dances such as the shimmy, Charleston and black bottom.

Verse:
I've some scandal, brand new scandal,
That I want you all to know.
About a new dance, up and new dance,
that is all the go.
It's the latest, up to datest, And the very best.
I know you'll like it, it's so different than the rest.

Chorus:
Oh! boy. Oh! Joy, It's hot, red hot,
It's got that certain something that's bound to get you.
And I'd like to bet you say, "Let's go! Let's go! It's nice and slow"
And there is something to it, makes you want to do it,
You'll love to toddle,
You've got to toddle,
I've got to toddle too.
