British producer and multi-instrumentalist, Ben Frascina, has been captivating audiences with the beautiful atmospheric music he brings to life under the moniker Skylab 3. With eclectic and groundbreaking influences ranging from DJ Shadow to Wu-Tang Clan, Frascina’s intent is to take the listener on a transcendent sonic journey. That intent is perfectly captured in his debut full-length album, A View From Above's, released via New York-based indie label, Babygrande Records.

The project was recorded in Sheffield, England and at Frascina’s home in Cardiff, Wales with mastering done by Daddy Kev at Cosmic Zoo. Frascina produced and engineered the album using his MacBook and a pair of KRK Rokit 5 monitors. The main DAW used was Logic 9, and many VST instruments, Plugins (for compression, effects, re-amping etc) and audio samples containing drum hits, vocals, various sound effects and speech, which he used in tracks on the album.

When asked about the inspiration behind the record, Frascina shared: “My debut album A View From Above is an assortment of songs I've created over time, which are influenced by a vast array of subjects, experiences, places and other music that I like listening to. The process of coming up with the whole album involved experimenting with sounds and ideas, building on them and hearing each track begin to come to life and enjoy them. I'd love for anyone to be able to take a moment to listen to the album, get lost in the sound and see where it takes them. I personally feel that it's quite ethereal, atmospheric and is a representation of my mind, all condensed into a selection of songs.”
