Groove Metal Syncopation - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Syncopation is an essential writing solid musical ideas. In this lesson we will be focusing on applying a syncopated 7/8 groove as well as how to sync up with other instruments, particularly the kick drum. With this riff we are in a Dropped A tuning. You could think of this as in A Phrygian. The chords we are embellishing would be your open A then moved up a half step to Bb (from the Phrygian mode).
