Gene Walker, a Columbus saxophonist who once toured with the Beatles and Aretha Franklin — and who spent his later years locally as a well-regarded teacher and performer — died Monday, July 21, 2014 from several health complications.

Jazz Arts Group celebrates "Gene Walker -- The Educator" through vignettes from Jim Masters, Reggie Jackson, Bobby Floyd, Ray Eubanks, Milt Ruffin, Cedric Easton and Jailynn Lake-Noel. This video was part of the Gene Walker Jazz Memorial held Wednesday, July 30 at the Lincoln Theatre in Columbus, OH.
