In another life, circa early 1997, I binge wrote and recorded this piano piece in my studio down on Henry St. in NYC (during my TAG /Atlantic stipend - lost weekend). I played and recorded a digital piano phrase by phrase, recording it to tape, having absolutely no idea where the piece would go, but simply making it up as I went along, the way I do all my "classical" shit. What came out was this sprightly, gregarious piece. Happy, but burnt, I put it on the shelf knowing that someday I would come back and drop an orchestral score around it.

A dream come true, last summer the Wascos acquired this Yamaha baby grand piano (disklavier 2 - functions as a player piano that reads and writes midi). Over the last few weeks I've finally got around to refining and transcribing the piece to midi and scoring and recording the orchestral accompaniment. It was no easy task, but It came out great.

I shot this video of the final pass while recording it. It's nice to hear this thing realized after nearly two decades.
Yeah, I know It would be cooler if someone was actually playing this...I welcome any and all volunteers.
