DESCRIPTION:
This digitized audio cassette wih a set by DJ Rok has been recorded at in 1991. Another mix full of great techno anthems of the years 1989 early 1991. This mixtape was labeled as "Dj Rok @ UFO in 1990" But this cannot be right because there are too many tunes from 1991 mixed in. The youtube user "DJ Lupu" caught this and left comments about it. Thanks for the clarification. It wasn't one of my own original tapes.

DJ Rok was one of the true techno dj pioneers in Berlin. Rok, Tanith, Jonzon, Roland 138 BPM, Dr. Motte, Mijk van Dijk, Der Würfler, Kid Paul & some others were the guys of the first hour behind the decks in Berlin (1988-1990). Rok, Tanith, Roland 138 bpm & Jonzon were the first resident DJs of Tresor in 1991.

UFO was Berlin's first pure acid/techno club. It opened its doors in 1989 (first loveparade party was at UFO in 89) as a illegal location in a basement (ceiling about 2 m high) in Köpenicker Str. 6. The basement was only accessible through a hold in the ground with a cliffy ladder and the UFO could hold as maximum about 100 visitors. Normally there were about 50 people partying in 1989. After the club had to close since it has been discovered by the authorities it moved to a new location in Berlin - Schöneberg in a former super market in the Großgörschenstr. directly at the Kleistpark in the end of 1989. This new and legal location existed the entire year 1990 until early 1991 before Dimitri Hegemann (main guy behind the UFO) opened with partners the TRESOR in April 1991. Tanith started on Wedensdays evening his CYBERSPACE club in UFO. This was pretty rare for the year 1990 to have a steady date on a Wedensday.
