LONG AWAITED NEW ALBUM "LADIES' LUCK" FOR RELEASE MARCH 2010!

Touted as "a left-field legend in the making" [Rhythms Magazine], intriguing improvising singer-songwriter Jackie Marshall is Australia's best kept secret, but not for long!

"that rare thing: an Aussie original" [The Weekend Australian]

With her long awaited new album LADIES' LUCK due for release in Australia in 2010 and first single TOO SOMEBODY already short-listed for the Queensland Courier Mail Peoples' Choice Award, things are very much about to heat up in the Jackie Marshall camp.

A favourite amongst established artists in Australia, always ready with a cheeky grin and an outrageous anecdote, Jackie was hand-picked by ARIA-award winning artist Missy Higgins to support her on her On A Clear Night tour, for Triple J Unearthed. She has featured on iconic Australian music television program RocKwiz alongside Mental As Anything's Colin Hay, and her work has featured on various national television and film releases. Jackie is a much loved young up-and-coming artist, chipping away with unique chutzpah at the coalface of the Australian music industry.

Jackie's debut record FIGHT n'FLIGHT with its alternative folk- and country-influenced "improvised art-house feel" is the only fully independent release to make finalist in The Australian Music Prize, alongside high profile Aussie artists The Drones, Augie March and Sarah Blasko. The album was recorded in a simple Northern New South Wales farmhouse. The Canberra Times called it "one of the most exciting and original debuts in recent Australian music."

Jackie's ability to work the attentions of large audiences has not gone unnoticed either, leading one prominent Australian journalist to excitedly record that Marshall is "by all accounts, a live force to be reckoned with" [The Weekend Australian]

As a mistress of the close mic, Jackie's "husky, smooth, sensual voice and laid back, bluesy music about pain and pretty men make even the most ambivalent audience member melt in their seat. Marshall almost hides the true power of her voice, which enhances her performance's mystery and intrigue." [Australian Stage Online]

Ian Cuthbertson of The Weekend Australian goes on to note that, "the production of the voice is a giant close-up of delicate emotional expression; every murmur, tongue flick and gentle pulse is significant" when it comes to Marshall's intimate performance sensibilities.

Equally, in full band mode Jackie simply commands the room: somewhere out there between Patti Smith and Marilyn Monroe, Jackie is not-so-quietly crafting her very own new iconic paradigm. With her new album LADIES' LUCK promising a breakaway collection of "neo-vintage rock'n'roll bucolia" we can hardly wait to learn just what that paradigm entails! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
