As part of the documentation for the recording process of Lethal Halo's final EP, I decided to film all my takes during the recording. I was also kind of inspired by Mike Portnoy's in-studio DVDs to do it.

Drums were recorded on June 28, 2014 in one session and I tried to put in as my preparation and production as I could going into this. My goals were to have little to no edits (only comping where necessary) and to have no sampling or sound replacement. I tuned everything to how I felt I wanted, pulled out all the stops and practiced my ass off.

I wanted to get the best real performance I/we could get. It doesn't sound like most metal albums today, and I get that and where the cons could be in that. I'm still happy with the product though, especially since the process on our first full length was vastly different. I've only improved since.

Drum overdubs were recorded the next day and my backing vocals recorded on October 18, 2014. Footage from these takes are cut into the drum cam footage when they pop in.

This is by the far the fastest and blastiest song we've done, so I got it out of the way first thing. My swivel was as on point as it was going to get at the time, but my blasting technique isn't the best...Trying to channel my Verbeuren/Hoglan inspirations, except nowhere near as good lol. Some good moments though!
