DESCRIPTION:
I discovered Henri's Notions
The album John O dreams. This is the fourth song today .they are just fun songs. I can't find the lyrics of the song anywhere and I wonder if it's the more traditional version or just a different version of that song we all know that goes as follows:
Oh, where have you been,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Oh, where have you been,
Charming Billy?
I have been to seek a wife,
She's the joy of my life,
She's a young thing
And cannot leave her mother. Etc. We also this tune.
I copied the words down from the album as it sounds phonetically.
Both versions however have the strange mathematics at the end:
-
Three times six and four times seven,
Twenty-eight and eleven,
Those are the words from the nursery rhyme version the numbers in the version I posted are stated differently in Henri's version. So does anybody know what the roots of this song that I posted are or is it just a creative version by the artists. Also what's with the mathematics. If she can't leave her mother she would be15 approximately so I don't get it does anybody?
So pasted below are the lyrics of the song I posted.
My guitars tis 2 halfsteps lower.
Chords are simple everything repeats. The first few are:
Am G Am. I pasted a few more I'm sure you'll get it.
Where have you been all the day Bonnie boy billy boy
where have you been all the day me dear darling Billy oh
Am G F E
Oh I have been all the day loggin with my lady gay
Am G F E Am
Isn't she a young thing lately for ma mummy oh
