This is my grandfather singing an old cowboy song about Buster Jiggs & Sandy Bob. Enjoy!

Here are the lyrics:

Buster Jiggs & Sandy Bob

Way up high in the Sierre Peaks
where the yellow pine grows so tall,
Buster Jiggs and Sandy Bob
had a roundup camp last fall.

They took along their horses, their running irons
And maybe a dog or two,
They lowed theyd brand every long-eared calf
That came within their view.

Now, manys the long-eared doggie
That didnt hole up that day,
Got his ole hide scorched and his long ears whittled
In a most artistic way.

Oh, one afternoon said Buster Jiggs
As he throwed his sago down,
Im tired of cow biography,
So, Im goin to town.

Well they saddled up and hit the slope
cause it werent no sight of a ride
For them was the days when a good cowpuncher
Could oil up his insides.

Now they started in Tuckers Bar
At the head of Whiskey Row
Then they wound up at the Depot House,
Some forty drinks below.

Oh they sets em up and turned around
And started the other way,
To tell the God-forsaken truth,
Them boys got drunk that day.

They was on their way, coming back to camp,
Packing an awful load,
When who should they meet but the Devil Himself,
Come aprancing down the road.

The Devil said, You cowboy skunks.
You better hunt your holes,
Cause Ive come up from Hells Rim Rock
To gather in your souls.

Let the Devil be damned, says Buster Jiggs,
Us boys is feeling right.
If you gather any cowboy souls,
You gotta be rigged to fight.

Now Buster Jiggs could ride like hell
And throw a lasso too.
So he threw it over the Devils horns
And he took his dailies too.

Oh, Sandy Bob was a reata man
With his gut line coiled up neat,
He shook it down and spun around
And caught the devils hind feet

They cut off his horns with a dehorn saw
And branded him a lot
They rode away and left him there
With his tail tied in a knot.

Now, stranger, if you are ever up in the Sierre Peaks,
And you hear an awful wail,
Youll know its the Devil howlin around,
about the knot tied in his tail!
