Lillian Askeland (born August 1, 1949 in Bergen) is a Norwegian country vocalist. Lillian Askeland won the Talent 65 competition, debuting on the record two years later with the single "You have a way to kiss, darling". She made her big break came in 1968 with the single: I'm Far From You At Home / A Place in the Sun (Triola TN500) Year 1968

In the mid-1970s, she was one of the artists in Vidar Lønn-Arnesen's Wild West stable in NRK, where she went under the aptly named Lilly The Kid. This TV show resulted in a record of the same name, and was then continued in the Landhandler series, which in turn led to the Countryfest record series, which came in seven issues in the years 1976-1981.

Failure and overload of her voice meant that she eventually had to be operated on for polyps on the vocal cords in January 1984.

Lillian Askeland has used several bands as backing over the years. Silver Stars, Country Team, Group Sax, Krag Jørgensen Band and United Stage

She has also been a music teacher at Hobøl Junior School. #LillianAskeland #CountryClassic #RonjasCountryMusic #RonjaGM
