from '6 Lyric Pieces'
-----------------------------
The Australian composer and pianist Graham P(onsonby) Moore (1859-1916) was born in Ballarat, near Melbourne, Victoria, but studied piano in Paris, Berlin and Vienna. He became a professor at the Royal College of Music in London, but returned occasionally to his homeland as an examiner, and died there. He is best known for his educational music. I am not sure if this suite, published in the last year of his life, falls into that category, although it is not difficult. It was dedicated to Moore's RCM colleague Emily Daymond (1866-1949) who, according to her Wikipedia page, memorised Bach's '48' late in life so that she could still play the work when she went blind.
