I was almost very 'anti-music video' with the production of the piece, I didn't want to include a performance scene- It would have been too easy to have asked Brandon to walk around the streets of London playing his guitar and singing along to his song- so instead we chose to have him walking in more of a naturalistic way just carrying his equipment- true musicians tend to spend more of their time lugging their prized equipment around with the dedication of their trade in order to play their shows at the end of the day, so that's what we wanted to show. I really like how the video in itself ignores all the traditional themes of a music video, and it's something myself and GAIW* have always been drawn to when working together- so if you expect pristine digital, shallow-focus detailed shots- forget it, I've left them out. I've edited the film in a way that uses the problematic shots, the visuals which most film-makers would leave out, so instead your eyes will be treated to chemical reactions and chemical contamination which leaves colours printing in the wrong places, dirty negatives and burnt out exposure! The video has a strong nostalgic feel, the colour's of the super 8 film jump out of the screen, and the focus and detail of the shots makes you almost feel as though you are there. Happiness, love and looking to the future all play a part in representing the song.

Never look back.

"I'm strangely drawn to the portrait image of seeing
someone photographed from behind, there's
something quite abstract and detailed about not
seeing someone's facial expressions, telling an
almost ambiguous story of their day. From spending
a lot of time walking alone in London; from the
short and repetitive walk to work- to longer
journeys into central and back- I'd find myself
almost dazed by the person in front of me,
imagining what it would look like on film if I was
to just follow them to see where they'd take me...
So the idea of Future Plans is a structured and
planned dilution of these ideas. I wanted to show
a change of lighting and scenery- as though days
had passed- almost like a conveyor-belt in time..."
- Emmaalouise

"Future Plans was my first lyrical attempt at tackling
optimism, forgetting about my problems and looking
forward. I used my experiences of the past and the
present, and created a future. I wanted to break away
from the realities of a normal life and live somewhere
in my head for three minutes where I could feel happy,
and as far away from the restrictions that an everyday
life can only offer to everyday people."
