Did you know that Domino Recording Co is actually funded by Domino pizza. The pizza you order is on the phone is now called a 'Take Me Out' and not a takeaway. Strange but true. But long before the rise of Franz Ferdinand this absolute gem was released on an unsuspecting world. This for me is Domino's finest release ever. Yes, even better than Telefuken, Fizzarum and Woodbine. Everyone should own this single - it's pure pop perfection. I love everything about this single and the fact that the vocals are strained makes it even better. I start the campain here to stop this record from going into obscurity. The track is actually a cover of an old Sandy Hollis single called 'I'm Tempted' which was first released in 1968 on Big Wheel (Sean at Rough Trade)

V-Twin is like crazy paving. If the stones don't fit together you need to send out for more cement. 'Gifted' it turns out was not really 'Gifted' at all, but an unidetifiable soul song which Midnight Mike (Twin drummer) had on a cassette tape. I remember every musician we knew seemed involved in some way with this record, but I suppose it turned out slightly Pastels with Katrina on vocal, and me on 'more cement' when the original mixes turned out wrong.
