DESCRIPTION:
Hank's Hour, a first extract from the second album by Kalweit and the Spokes titled "Mulch", was inspired by one of Georgeanne Kalweit's loved ones who completely transformed under the influence of alcohol, revealing a very seductive side but one which caused mayhem and generally got this person into a lot of trouble. Hank's Hour is also about the roles, mores and "rules" which society pushes on us regarding what is considered "right or wrong", but Georgeanne also reflects on forced rules and codes of behavior regarding what "male or female" should look and act like and on how drugs and alcohol possibly allow for transgression and for whatever is trapped inside of us to escape.

"Hank's Hour" was directed by video maker Marco Balletti, a graphic and visual artist who also created the entire CD booklet of "Mulch". After having listened to the stories behind each song in Mulch, Marco Balletti decided with Georgeanne that "Hank's Hour" was the one to make the video on. On one condition; that the video be shot in Stockholm where Marco lives. "Marco and I wrote the story board together and, thanks to the success of our crowd funding through Musicraiser, we went to Stockholm in March of this year and shot the video in 4 days, mostly outdoors, day and night, with temperatures of up to 20 degrees below zero! it was like going back to Minneapolis for me -- says Georgeanne - in all senses: for the landscape, the ice, people's faces (Minneapolis was founded by Swedish and Norwegian immigrants) and for the light and intense colors of a true winter".


"Hank's Hour", primo estratto da "Mulch" secondo album dei Kalweit and the Spokes, è stato scritto ispirandosi ad una persona cara a Georgeanne Kalweit che sotto l'effetto dell'alcool si trasformava completamente facendo emergere un lato di sé molto seducente agli occhi degli altri ma combinando sempre un sacco di guai. "Hank's Hour" parla quindi anche dei ruoli, dei costumi e delle "regole" socialmente imposte su ciò che è considerato "giusto o sbagliato". Georgeanne in questo brano ha anche riflettuto sulle regole imposte, su ciò che dovrebbe essere "maschio o femmina" e su come, magari, alcool e droghe permettano di trasgredire e far uscire ciò che abbiamo intrappolato dentro di noi.

La regia di "Hank's Hour" è del Video Maker, Grafico e Visual Artist Marco Balletti che ha curato anche l'intero booklet di "Mulch". Marco Balletti dopo aver ascoltato le storie che si celano dietro ogni brano appartenente a "Mulch", ha deciso con Georgeanne di raccontare l"Hank's Hour". Unica condizione andare a girare il video a Stoccolma, dove Marco vive. "Io e Marco abbiamo sviluppato la story board insieme e, grazie anche al successo della raccolta fondi con Musicraiser, a marzo di quest'anno siamo andati a Stoccolma e abbiamo girato il video in 4 giorni, maggiormente in esterno, giorno e notte, con temperature fino 20 gradi sotto zero! Per me - racconta Georgeanne - era come tornare a Minneapolis in tutti sensi: i paessaggi, il ghiaccio, le facce delle persone (Minneapolis è stato fondata dai immigrati Svedesi e Norvegesi), per la luce e i colori intensi di un vero inverno"
