PUBLISHED:  Feb 16, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Gadalzen is a folk-rock band from Toulouse. It was founded by Jacob Fournel and Peter Rouch in 1996 and is part of the current scene Occitan. He now has to his credit two albums, Chromatophonies (2002) and The Tourment des Lunes (2005). Gadalzen music has its origins in the Occitan traditional funds but the group is freed in the early years of its existence, composing original songs, where rock, funk and jazz
improvisations mingle with the character "trad" given by the diatonic accordion or bagpipe. On the last album "Tourment des Lunes" can even hear the intervention of a string orchestra composed for the occasion by the Conservatoire National de Région de Toulouse. The result is a hybrid music, lowbrow asymmetric rhythms and exploring unusual patterns are common among Gadalzen) but always interesting and full of energy. The originality of the production is that we often think of music for RPG or for film. In 2009 the group headed to the concert film and working on a third album focused on film music.
