French Quarter Fest 2016 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 10, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
This is the largest free music festival in the south. April is one of the best times to come to New Orleans. The weather is usually perfect this time of year. It starts with four days of French Quarter Fest where hundreds of bands play on twenty-three outdoor stages around the French Quarter and by the Mississippi river. At the end of the month, there is the Zurich PGA golf tournament and two weekends of Jazz Fest going into May. I was only able to capture a small portion of all of the festivities including food, sights, and music. I start out by driving across the longest bridge in the United States, the Causeway bridge, which is 24 miles long and built in 1956. Once we arrive, we meander around and see a few of the bands and the sights. I don't go to New Orleans very often but when I do, it is always enjoyable. There is a lot of great music on Frenchmen Street at night which is off the beaten Bourbon St. path and the best place to go for real music.

I end the video with my cute grandson living in Spain just because I think he is the cutest and I wanted to show him off a little. They just had another baby boy and my new grandson on April 7th.
