In a sea of pretension and snobbery, sometimes you just need to lose your shit and let your inner frenzy take hold.

Since its birth in 2009, DSNT have become notorious for their heavy sound, visually intense parties and astounding artistic capabilities. An escape from the “shiteness of capitalism”, the Belfast label represents freedom of artistic expression and liberation from the mundane via a deafening kick drum and high velocity doof.

DSNT 005, the latest in a string of hard hitting releases, comes in the form of a various artists package and has been constructed into a piece of lairy architecture. AnD, EOMAC, Fran Hartnett and Sunil Sharpe are the composers of a welcome hysteria.

AnD enter the frame with a bruising and anxious segment of defined techno. Interferometer opens with unrelenting waves of rhythmic noise and a darkly menacing soundscape together craft a unique face melter.

Dublin’s EOMAC presents Lair of the Lich King is a tale of disturbing truths. There is no escape from the hideaways of this ruler. A genuine feeling of discomfort smoulders as your heartbeat quickens. Don’t fret however; this is soon replaced with complete climatic release through fist pump inducing noise and tenacious beats.

Piercing swords of synth, acid soaked bedlam and distorted mayhem make up Fran Hartnett’s Purple Slab. There’s method amongst the madness; an oxymoronic universe of chaos and sensitive rhythm unfolds, inhabited with bulky grooves and cumbersome kicks.

Sunil Sharpe finalises a loud and symbolic concept with the abstract aesthetic of Jamm 4. Eerie bells, sounds of frantic industrialism and alarms belonging to the underworld blend within a turbulent epidemic. The merging of steady patterns and a madness that threatens to boil over makes for an immersive and addictive ride.

"The visual content consists of a series of drawings loosely based on the subject of the human body. Originally made in ink on paper, my drawings have been animated and then imported into a hardware system that allows me to manipulate the imagery directly from my music.

This project has developed gradually and quite naturally over the past few years through my work as a tattoo artist, an ongoing obsession with the possibilities of expression through visual music, and a passion for this futuristic and powerful music that is techno."
