DESCRIPTION:
Cherokee is one of the great jazz standards written by Ray Noble back in 1938. The Tony Castellano Trio with Tony on piano and keyboard bass, Ken Loomer on drums and Franco Marino on tenor sax. Tony took this at his fast tempo and he does an amazing job of playing the walking bass line plus doing his piano solo at the same time. The great Franco Marino takes a blazing sax solo followed by me on the drums. This is a rare type of jazz trio where the piano man Tony is playing two parts all the time so we can add the sax which really gives it a more exciting type of sound.
