“The Taquín Experiments” is a new ensemble created and directed by Italian pianist Francesco Turrisi to perform his own original music and his arrangements of traditional music.
Francesco Turrisi has been defined a “musical alchemist” by the press because of his very vast range of musical influences and experiences. He creates an original musical language in his compositions, that draws influences from baroque music, traditional repertoires from the Mediterranean, Irish traditional music and contemporary jazz.
“The Taquín Experiments” features musicians from very different musical backgrounds such as classical, jazz, contemporary and world music. The lineup of the ensemble changes from project to project and can vary in size from trio to octet.
