Orthanc's History

2010: "L'Age de Raison" out on Renaissance Païenne. 15 years of pure French Black Metal!!!
Gigs at St Etienne with Horrid Flesh, Lyon with Negura Bunget, Nommay with Searing Skull.

2009 : Gig with Celestia, Cristalys, and more at the Fête des Lumières Païennes 2 (Lyon).
Lots of line -up modifications... L.L. has gone away but stay in collaboration; Rage (Inner Khaos) and Souffrance at guitars, and Eurynome (Evil Eruption) at bass and vocals, are now with the Maréchal..
Hrafnagud has decided to make his way with Frakass and Brutal Attack, and leaves Orthanc.
Participation to the Tribute to Summoning (Echoes of Koliba prods).
Gigs with Frakass, as session members (Marseille, Paris, Bratislava).

2008 : Composition of many tracks in Brittany.
Gig at Lyon with The Oath and Faustrecht, gig at Clermont-Ferrand.
Gig in Italy as session members of metal/Oï band Frakass.

2007 : Recording of « l'Age de Raison »..
Many live gigs in Switzerland & France, with Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult (D), Inferno (Cz), Kult (I), Terre de France, ...
Concert at Sibiu, Transylvania (Romania), with Absurd (D)& Temnozor (Ru) on august...
Dracir is fired, Orthanc are only 2.
Participation for The Underground Tribute to Absurd.
Fête des Lumières Païennes (December) at Lyon, with Blessed in Sin, Finis Gloria Dei & Sigillum Diabolicum.

2006 : Coming of Hrafnagud (ex Destinity) in the band ( bass & vocals). Pesttanzer leaves the band.
Gigs at Lyon, with Bruttal Attack (UK) & Décadence Culture.

2005 : "Aux Enfants de Thulée", out on Christhunt. Dracir comes as official guitarist. Svallnacht leaves the band.
Some tracks of Orthanc appear on some compilations.

2004 : "7 ans de réflexion" out on Musique & Tradition. Gig in Switzerland with Blessed in Sin & Seigneur Voland with Dracir (Crystalium) and some session musicians. Korosiv Prod edits a version of "7 ans .." on split tape with Nordum.
Glaurung plays in Blessed in Sin for live sessions.

2003 : Svallnacht (Valsblut) joins the Maréchal Glaurung. Together they recompose the old tracks and start to record. Pesttanzer joins them for the vocals.

1997 : Adhanedel & the Maréchal keep separated.
Gigs at Monteux, and Caumont.
Glaurung founds Bugale an Noz ( celtic BM project) under the nickname of Korrigan, and goes to live in Lyon.
He meets the Archidruid of Brittany's gorsedd Gwenc'hlan Le Scouezec to talk about paganism, then, Glaurung knows he is on the right way.

1996 : Baalberith (In Articulo Mortis) & Lord Alberic come for reaharsals, and leave the band. Glaurung plays in the doom/rock band Equinoxe.

1995 : Adhanedel & the Maréchal Glaurung ( drummer in death metal band Tzentch) create Orthanc, at Carpentras (84), with influences of Norwegian , Austrian & French BM, and inspirated by Occultism, Paganism and Nationalism. They were playing together before in the thrash band Angst.
