With over 10 years experience in the industry, Having won 'Best Hip Hop/Rap' at the 2010 Gospel Music Awards, been nominated 'Best Gospel Act' for the MOBO Awards 2010 and for a Dove Award in the States early 2011, accolades including Channel AKA smash hits and successful tours in the UK and abroad, any normal artist would gracefully accept the title of 'veteran'.However we aren't talking about any artist here, we are talking about 'Faith Child'.
In August 2010, Faith Child headlined at the prestigious Indigo2 for a show stopping night headlined 'The 3 Musketeers' (T3M). The night saw Guvna B, Victizzle and Faith Child take the crowd by storm in a night that has gone down in UK Gospel history. In March 2011, Faith performed to a packed out crowd for his one man show 'Faith Child Live' at 229 The Venue with queues tailing back around the block!
Having opened up for Tinie Tempah, won Best Urban Gospel Artist at the African Gospel Music Awards and The People's Choice vote on The Cordless Show in 2010, Faith Child is the mastermind behind 'IllumiNATION', the fastest selling debut album in UK Gospel (2009). His debut album which features MOBO award winners Guvna B, Victizzle and Jahaziel, American R&B sensation Terrell King, in addition to the legendary Hillsong, flew off the shelves in the week it was released, and this is a highlight to a fantastic year which included him opening for Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin and Marvin Sapp.
Faith Child, who's talented artistry can only be described as God given uses the word of God to positively inspire and empower all who listen. His artistry is more pointed towards the youth of today, saved and unsaved, bringing hope and an alternative to life which is Christ. During this year's Easter festivities, Faith Child was invited by the Prime Minister for an Easter reception at 10 Downing Street.
Faith is more than a rapper.he is a born performer. A skillful drummer, a versatile MC as well as having a humorous disposition ensure his music is creative and innovative. Not to mention his skills in other areas of performing arts which include drama, dance and mime. His performing arts group 'Trans4maz' are a testament to this. To give back to the community, Faith also works at a school for excluded children in South London.
Further reiterating that his selfless aim is to spread love and peace along with the word of God, he collaborates and shares his talents with many people. His dedicated mission has resulted in massive tours with the likes of Cross Movements singer, songwriter and producer J.R. He has also been on the road and shared stages with Helen Baylor, The Ambassador, Lecrae, Guvna B, Jahaziel, Four Kornerz and more. Historic venues such as the Excel Exhibition Centre, Fairfield Halls, Hackney Empire and Hackney Ocean have experienced such tours and the Redemption Camp in Nigeria with a capacity of over 4 million.
With his stage presence proven, packing out the famous ULU venue for his album launch and producing an amazing show for fans, it would be understandable if he wasn't as prolific recording wise. Surprisingly he is just as inspirational. He appeared on 2007 MOBO award winners G Force's album 'Destroy and Rebuild' and 2010 MOBO Award winner Guvna B's album and latest mixtape. He also featured on the first Christian garage music video to hit mainstream television 'Bibles Bibles'. This song was a 'Channel AKA' smash hit.
The world waits as we see Faith Child make a mark in the UK Gospel scene.
