In the UK Music Scene, MOBO Nominated band Four Kornerz have distinguished themselves as one of the most exciting bands to emerge out of the UK, earning them critical acclaim from the urban, Pop, Christian and World Music press.
With an infectious and dynamic mix of Funk, Gospel, Soul, R&B and Traditional Nigerian rhythms, the band’s reputation for delivering strong and exhilarating stage shows has seen them headline key events like MTV Europe’s Base Lounge (2005)where the band stole the show with the heart stopping ballad “Cry No More” and their debut signature soul-funk cut “Clap Clap”. The Show also featured UK R&B songstress Keisha White and Mercury Music Prize winner Dizzie Rascal.



The release of their highly anticipated debut album “Soulectric” in June 2007 was met with wide critical acclaim from fans and industry insiders alike, earning them numerous prestigious awards and nominations including a MOBO (music of Black Origin) nomination for “Best Gospel Group 2007”, an Urban Music Award “Best Gospel Artist 2008” “Gold Award” from the Christian Broadcast Council as “Best Gospel Album 2007” and nominations in seven categories including “New Artist of the year” and “Album of the Year” in the 2009 Marling Awards, the premier International Music Awards held in the Caribbean, going on to be awarded 2 accolades by that prestigious body. Soulectric has gone on to be one of the most successful independent releases of 2007.



The Lead single from the album “Gonna Make It” has already scored a hit with the UK underground Garage scene, obtaining firm support from major players like DJ EZ (London’s Kiss 100fm) and Control - S. The album covers a wide spectrum of themes from the socio-conscious anti-racism anthem “Conquerors”, Child Abuse “Let it Go” to party tracks like “Express Train” and “Turn it Up” which features BBC Jazz Award winner Dennis “Bad Bone” Rollins and platinum selling African World Music artiste Mike Aremu



Fronted by Four sibling brothers of Nigerian heritage; Deji, TJ, Vidal and Daniel, Four Kornerz was launched in 2004 with the release of their debut single “Clap Clap” which placed the band on the UK music map, gaining constant airplay from stations across the UK, including BBC1Xtra, BBC Radio2, Choice FM and numerous other regional radio shows across Europe, North America and Africa. The single also earned a Gem award for “Best New Comer 2004”
In June 2006, the band beat over 400 other hopefuls in ITV’s national “Battle of the Bands” to win a spot at the 02 Wireless Festival Headlined by Bassement Jaxx, New Order and Kasabian.
For two years (205/2006) Four Kornerz have been the headline act on the landmark Young Voices tour which travels across Key arenas in the UK and Ireland with a combined audience in excess of 100,000. With a memorable artist collaboration where Four Kornerz performed the classic “Lean on Me” with Joss Stone, Lemar and Ms Dynamite and Alexandra Birke
2007 saw Four Kornerz notch up a series of high profile appearances along side multiplatinum artists Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary at the “Gospel Gathering UK” in November 2007, the biggest Gospel event in the UK. October 2007 saw them hand picked as part of an exclusive line up of artists for the “Best of British”; an urban showcase festival that marked the re-opening of the historic Town Hall Birmingham, by gathering the UK’s most promising and dynamic acts from the British Urban scene.
Four Kornerz have also headlined at a number of European states including Ireland, Germany, France, Holland and Slovakia, notching up appearances at various key festivals including 02 Wireless Festival, Greenbelt, Decibel Showcase, Creation Fest, Flevo Fest, Soul Survivor and Soul Britannia.
The band has shared the stage with a stellar selection of artists covering a broad spectrum of genres including Delirious?, Kirk Franklin, Corinne Bailey-Rea, Alexandra Birke, Mary Mary, Joss Stone, Lemar, Ms Dynamite, Omar, Tye Tribbet, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Jocelyn Brown, ni9ce(2009 MOBO & MTV 2009 African Artist of the year), Shirley Ceaser, Sammy Okposu, London Community Gospel Choir, Terri Walker, Karen Clarke-Sheard, Shola Ama, Tonex, Y-Friday, Sabrina (Mysteeq), Dizzie Rascal,Yolanda Brown and more
Four Kornerz’s ability to adapt and appeal to such a wide spectrum of music lovers is what has ensured its success and longevity as a top UK Independent band. Singer/songwriters in their won right, Deji, TJ, Vidal and Daniel are poised to take their exciting and inspirational sound to the four corners of the world.
