This video demonstrates some examples of real life emergencies that EMT's and Paramedics respond to on a daily basis. Emergency Medical Services is a very high stress occupation that requires providers to perform life saving interventions at a moments notice. FDNY EMS responds to approximately 1.3 million calls a year.
