Performer ERNESTO TOMASINI is often described by the international press as "a cult figure": As actor, comedian and singer he has entertained audiences for 25 years, first in his native Italy, then in the UK and around the world.
As vocalist and author of experimental music Ernesto is a prominent figure and co-founder of 3 major projects: He is the singer of the "Othon & Tomasini" duo (for info look at the first profile on the top friends list) and singer/songwriter of the band Almagest! (details on the second profile on the top friends list). More recently, with dj José Maabra, he founded the noise music project: Trans4Leben. Other collaborations of note include: Andrew Liles (Nurse With Wound), Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson (Coil, Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle) and Current 93 (Ernesto was a special guest singer, alongside Marc Almond and Antony [without the Johnsons], at their London concert in 2008). In the English capital he has sung his repertoire in theatres like the Royal Albert Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room, the National Theatre and the Roundhouse. As a recording artist he has had five albums released on prestigious indie labels, plus a single and a guest spot on the soundtrack of Bruce LaBruce's penultimate film.
On radio he has sung and acted on all the BBC stations, Classic FM, Radio 3 (Spain) and Radio New Zealand, to name a few. His TV and film appearances include major projects for the BBC, RAI (Italy), RTL4 (Holland) and Universal Pictures. As voiceover artist he has worked for directors James Ivory, Ridley Scott, Kevin Spacey and Rob Marshall.
As avant-garde comedian and cabaret artist he has performed in theatres, nightclubs and cultural institutes in twelve countries around the world, collaborating with people like composer Stephen Montague, fashion designer Nasir Mazhar and performance artist Ron Athey.
On the legitimate stage he has played lead roles with experimental theatre companies (Lindsay Kemp), in Off-West End productions (Blind Summit's "Mr China's Son"), on the West End ("Chicago - The Musical") and also created his own shows ("True or Falsetto? A Secret History of the Castrati"), which have toured internationally.
A sought-after lecturer on theatre history and techniques he has given master-classes to students in drama schools in UK, Spain and Mexico. Ernesto is the London correspondent of the Italian magazine "Musical!".
