Scars - Emmanuel Jal with Nelly Furtado
Lyrics
Verse 1
I’m a trouble,
I’m a trouble,
I’m a troubled child.
Could you see my smile?
I walked many miles
My story’s the Nile.
I know what is mine,
I don’t live in denial.
Ahhhhhhhhhh
Chorus
My scars are what got me this far
And now I can touch the stars
Coz it don’t matter who you are
Who you are
We’ve all got scars.
Verse 2
As a little girl
Painted my whole world
With a strange palette, but a palette that was mine
And if I felt pain, I washed it away
With the melody and a smile
It worked every time
Chorus
My scars are what got me this far
And now I can touch the stars (every star)
Coz it don’t matter who you are
Who you are
My scars are what got me this far
And now I can touch the stars
Coz it don’t matter who you are
Who you are
We’ve all got scars
Verse 3
