PUBLISHED:  Mar 17, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Gospel legend Lois Snead started her gospel journey with the 1963 release of "God Cares" by Evangelist Rosie Wallace & The First Church of Love, Faith & Deliverance Choir. That sweet voice had been ringing up and down Diamond Street in Philly, and now it was beginning introduced to the world. Lois was a faithful member of the church, and as the choir's fame rose, so did Lois as one of the featured soloist. And her fan base began to grow as the choir traveled, and their songs started getting air play on gospel stations.

Lois remained with the choir singing oh so sweetly, until that sweet voice was heard by Dorothy Norwood, who was in the process of forming another set of singers for herself. Lois was asked to join this set of singers, and she began another part of her career; traveling across the USA with Dorothy bring new fans to her style and sweet voice.

When Lois left the Norwood singers she pursued a solo career releasing several albums on her own. Also, in this time period Lois's voice caught the ear's of some Broadway producers which landed a stint in "Your Arms Too Short To Box With God."

From a 1998 release an old Davis Sisters standard, Plant My Feet On Higher Ground, with a little help from Dorothy.
