DESCRIPTION:
The annual Charlotte Clean and Green festival is a Learning Festival and Earth Day Celebration on the Central Campus of Central Piedmont Community College. It was held (for the 4th year) on April 17th, 2011. The festival is the premier environmental and sustainability focused event in the Charlotte Mecklenburg region. This year's festival offered individuals, families and businesses the opportunity to learn how helping to save our natural resources can also save money, create economic opportunity and provide for healthier living. Events included:
Free green seminars on home efficiency, green living, solar photovoltaic, green remodeling and building, green careers and much more.
Hands-on Learning tent with major emphasis on home and community gardening.
Vendors and exhibitors showcasing green products, services and ideas to help save money and conserve our natural resources.
Great food choices featuring fresh local fare prepared through a collaborative effort of Charlotte culinary students and professional chefs.
Activities for kids and teens including arts and crafts in partnership with Sensoria.
Live music and entertainment throughout the day provided by the legendary John Tosco.
Electronics Recycling collection site provided by Goodwill Industries.
