Now of course this a subjective topic, but I have been doing this for a long time and in my opinion there really aren't more than 5 or 6 really distinct and famous "guitar tones" that you hear a lot. Thankfully there are 4 electric guitar presets in Garageband 10 that will pretty much cover the vast majority of your electric guitar tone needs.
