A tribute to two of my favorite things: art and the band Sugar Ray.

This is a song celebrating the great divide between art and reality. Rick Sykes ("Xykes") is comic book character I created long, long ago in 6th grade or so (http://emezie.com).

When you create fictional characters, you have to come to terms with the fact that they will always live more exciting lives than you.

They'll face more profound challenges than you...and overcome them. They'll accomplish feats more breathtaking than yours. They'll see things you'll never see. They'll survive what you couldn't possibly survive. They'll be what you couldn't possibly be. They'll be celebrated and loved more than you.

They're just...better.

In a way, it can almost even be depressing...

Nothing for us regular humans to do but perhaps gain a little inspiration from them...and try to live our lives a little bit more like we were fictional characters...

Musically, this song is a tribute to my favorite band, Sugar Ray.

It's a wild combination of:
"Stay On"

"Going Nowhere"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe5DZ_-3i9g

"Fly"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUtnwcv-quE

and trace amounts of many other Sugar Ray songs.

In terms of style, does it sound like a song Sugar Ray could have made themselves?
