Dandelion Kingdom - Edgar Breau (from the album "Patches Of Blue" 2012) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 25, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Edgar Breau, the helmsman of Canada's internationally lauded Proto-Punk/Psych band ,Simply Saucer, with
an equally fervid cult following, has recently released his second solo CD (March 2012) to
considerable critical acclaim:

... abandoning the electric (and electrifying) mayhem of his legacy, the solo Breau has
created a sublimely atmospheric kind of melancholy that will be familiar to acolytes of
everyone from Chet Baker to Robert Wyatt - John Sakamoto/The Toronto Star...

...this Simply Saucer pilot fastens his seatbeat for a solo mission while proving he can
make a perfect landing - Montreal Mirror....

...this unique bard-like character usually does pop up from England, be it Andy Partridge
or Robyn Hitchcock - poeple with a flair for language and a broad range of musical
interests. Breau might be able to make some Dickensonian comparisions to his East
End Hamilton roots, but I think it's more a case of the strangest career in Canadian music
continuing to give us great surprises - Bob Mersereau/CBC broadcaster and journalist...

...and the way he can mix various aspects of singer/songwriter sunshine and lollipops
with a dragonian vision straight outta The Velvet Underground is something that continues
to amaze me - Chris Stigliano/Blog to Comm(Black to Comm) USA

... but what's going on here is more than genre work or gear shifting - it's some genuinely
intense, sincere troubadour-ism, telling tales and meaning them....
