Earl Klugh wrote "This Time" for his 1977 release Finger Paintings. Al Jarreau loved Earl’s melody, and wrote lyrics to accompany him. The duo recorded it for Al's 1980 release, which he titled "This Time.” The two friends performed it together here at the Parliament Jazz Festival in Moscow in 2003, and have done so many times. They also shared some special moments at sound check that day. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we do. Rest in Peace, Al.
