There’s been a lot of hype surrounding this game lately, and for good reason. Seriously, as someone who doesn’t play video games so much any more, I definitely recommend checking it out—from the story to the unique battle system to the soundtrack, it’s worth the $10.

So… SPEAKING OF THAT SOUNDTRACK!!! ;3

There were plenty of themes that I had my eye on, but I went for Dummy! in the end because I hadn’t actually heard them all lmao (otherwise Death by Glamour would’ve gotten the spotlight, but alas. Maybe another day!). Not to say Dummy! isn’t still amazing though—the bassline in the original gives me life.

I thought it would be a lot of fun to take the source and repurpose its main melodies as sort of easily repeatable hooks to better suit a hands-up style song. Another goal here was to channel how Undertale’s OST relies heavily on chiptune sounds a lot of the time, and use a fair amount of 8-bit style synths myself as a tribute. I hope it sounds alright, I don’t use chiptune-esque sounds too often.

Overall I’m content with the result here, I had a relatively smooth time coming up with everything and sometime in the future I really want to revisit Undertale’s OST. I don’t think I’ll have the time for a little bit, but there’s still at least one or two songs I want to try.
