from the program note:

This piece is an exploration of the sounds available from the Feedback Lap Steel I developed and digital sympathetic strings. The instrument was developed with the intention of being able to drive energy into the strings. The bridge of the instrument is mounted to a voice coil which is driven from various patches written in ChucK. For this piece I'm using pitch shifted feedback and sine tones which are tuned to the resonance of the
strings. The output of the instrument is fed into two other instruments which were prototypes as well as a bank of digital sympathetic strings all responding to what comes out of the lap steel.
