The friendship between Steven Rodby and Dominique Fillon has naturally lead Dominique to record his album in Chicago for his latest album. Chicago is well-known for being the city of jazz where giants of jazz have recorded their album like Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton, Patricia Barber or Kurt Elling - just to name a few. As of today, Chicago remains the temple of jazz and is the place to go for any cosmopolitan artist like Dominique Fillon. With Steven Rodby playing the bass, he wished to be back to this team of Australian jazz with Nic Cecire on drums, to record the way they did back in the days at the famous Chicago Recording CRC, with the engineer Helik Hadar for supervising. On this rhythmic section, Dominique Fillon has invited guest voices from the other side of the world with the corean singer Youn Sun Nah and the swedish guitar player Ulf Wakenius. Americas is a great musical trip, and is a great occasion to make cultures gather around a French pianist and composer.

Le premier album « Détours » de Dominique Fillon, pianiste, arrangeur, réalisateur (Philippe Lavil, Bernard Lavilliers mais aussi, Angélique Kidjo, Lokua Kanza ou Sanseverino) avait été l'occasion de faire de belles rencontres musicales et notamment celle du contrebassiste de Chicago, Steven Rodby (Path Metheny).
C'est donc tout naturellement que, pour ce deuxième opus, Dominique a choisi d'enregistrer avec Steven Rodby à Chicago dans un des mythiques studios de ce temple du jazz et du blues.

Avec le batteur Australien Nic Cecire et en invités la chanteuse coréenne Youn Sun Nah, le guitariste suédois Ulf Wakenius, le guitariste français Olivier Roman garcia, Dominique Fillon nous convie avec « AMERICAS » à un très beau voyage, plein de délicatesse et de sensibilité.
