DJ Dramadik

Lately it seems as though everyone who owns a set of turntables is calling himself or herself a DJ. The majority of these DJs do the same thing a regular person can do at a party; Play a record, wait until it is over, and then play another. The true art of deejaying is the ability to hear the next big thing, the ability to turn two turntables and a microphone into a musical instrument and the ability to move a crowd. This has all but vanished from the cultural landscape.The original pioneers of this art form were essential in transforming hip-hop from a local trend into a global phenomenon. It is nice to see that DJ Dramadik continues in their footsteps and takes deejaying in its true form into the new millennium.

Born in 1977, DJ Dramadik has been interested in deejaying since the age of six. He would frequently travel from his native home in New Jersey, to Brooklyn, New York to visit his mother. His experiences in Brooklyn would help expose him to the work of DJs like Red Alert, Kool Herc, EPMD's DJ Scratch, the late Jam Master Jay and Kid Capri. Dramadik would look to these legendary hip-hop icons as major influences later in life. As he developed as a DJ, he incorporated these personal experiences into his moniker, "The Brooklyn-Jersey Express."

Dramadik’s career truly began at the age of 14, when he got his first break as DJ for WLFR-FM 91.7, Richard Stockton College's local station. Every Friday, Dramadik kept South Jersey listeners in tune with the latest hip-hop from around the country. It took the main radio stations ten years to catch up after his radio program ended its successful run.

For the past eighteen years, Dramadik has continued to bring his unique style to the masses doing parties, concerts and radio shows all around the world. He has since been producing his line of "Brooklyn-Jersey Express" mix tapes producing dance, rock and hip-hop party-record remixes played in today’s clubs. He continues to deejay for sold out concert tours globally. He has deejayed with artists such as Nas, Busta Rhymes, Joe Buddens, Notorious BIG and Wu-Tang Clan. He has also deejayed on Philadelphia's Power 99 FM, and hosted a Saturday Night Mix show on 99.3 the Buzz. Dramadik began to flex his creative muscles by expanding his talents to production. He has and continues to produce records for many of the East Coast’s local artists.



Throughout his career, Dramadik has been essential in bringing hip-hop to areas where its presence was widely ignored. He has evolved from a kid with a passion for deejaying into one of the East Coast's most well-known and most respected DJs. Today, DJ Dramadik has several upcoming bookings across the world.
