Pt 1: Vinyl Cutting Session at HRS - Stereophonic Space Sound Unlimited - Der Ermittler - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 12, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Cutting the first song on the second side of Stereophonic Space Sound Unlimited's "The Fluid Soundbox" LP (2012 reissue on Dionysus Records) at History of Recorded Sound (HRS) in Culver City on a 1950 Scully Lathe that came from the Westrex Labratory. Cutting engineer Len Horowitz claims that the first stereo discs were cut on this lathe. Len was an understudy of Westrex' Otto Hep and is one of the few people on this planet that can rewire and rewind cutting heads. Since 1992, all Dionysus / Bacchus Archives / Orange Sky and Hell Yeah vinyl had been cut by Len at HRS. (c) Dionysus Records, Inc
