This take on a great tune captures the sweetest of young girl vocals, delivered by the mysterious Ja Neen Henry.
Totally deconstructing the original arrangement, subtly adding what sounds very much like the mercurial kissing of the Sax by Mike Terry, tinkling piano rhythm and silky girl group chorus, again enrich with a Motown-esque Sax break. everything screams DETROIT!
The flip, even though written by the prolific genius of Van McCoy is again peppered with all those flavours we love about the Detroit Sound. With Terry Saxophone again, elevating the session above and beyond the norm with a blasting intrusion…
An annoyingly elusive disc, rather tan super-rare. Hard to find in this form, and fitting perfectly into the most-coloured of label runs, BLUE ROCK look so gorgeous as a run..
and Ja Neen sounds so alluringly-gorgeous on this version of an already great tune..
Darn fine clean as a whistle condition throughout..
