This "Turntable Band" infuses a technical mastery of sound engineering with live orchestrated scratches, beats, and harmonies into a new form of Hip-Hop expressionism.
Morse Code is a veritable army of producers, sound engineers, turntablists, and emcees- yet its membership includes just five people. This dedication to every aspect of Hip-Hop music and culture is reflected in every track of TURNSTYLES. The two emcees: Ru-Ski and Emiliano weave self-reflective stories as if they were some philosophical journeymen begging the question: "Is there more to this game than that which can only be perceived by means of material gain?" This question is evident on such tracks as "Fellow Constituents" and "Thought Process" Turnstyles album. The mastery of the turntable as instrument by DJ's: Jimi the Mantis Claw, Pickster, and Casper can only be understood with a first listen to this album. What might sound like computerized drum loops and samples are actually these three Dj's playing in real-time; acting as drummer, lead scratch, and bass- melding beats, melodies, and scratched sampling into a cohesively orchestrated piece.

No stranger to corroboration with seasoned performers, Morse Code has taken the stage with such musical luminaries as Q-bert, Dj Swamp, Shortkut, Roc Raida, and Linkin Park. Morse Code has recently been featured in the nationally circulated Hip-Hop magazine RIME with the quote, "No matter how you look at this approach to the Hip-Hop game, one thing is apparently clear: Morse Code intends to get noticed."
The album's first single, "Why Wait for Science", captures the essence and musical abilities of these audible Picasso's. It is a song pointing toward the fact that our evolving existence depends on a dual acceptance of both the spiritual and technological states- one cannot exist without the other; much like the fact that the "Old School + New School = True School" adage cannot exist without groups like Morse Code who are pushing the boundaries of Hip-Hop towards the next generation.
