Developers are developing Portland into a playground for the rich, with the active or tacit cooperation of the Portland and Oregon and US political establishments, all of which are pro-developer, anti-human. It's a class war. They're destroying my neighborhood. Our rent has almost doubled since we moved here. This song is about the developer scum who is currently destroying the property next to our apartment, where there used to be big old shade trees that everybody in the neighborhood loved.

He's developing his bank account
By destroying nice old houses and cutting down trees
