Considered by his peers to be one of the most talented Croatian film music composers and most promising orchestral artists, Dalibor Grubačević made his grand entrance into the world of cinema in 2006 with his score for “Duh u močvari”, a feature by Branko Ištvančić.The accompanying sountrack album was published by Croatia Records.

His talent and works were recognized in 2010 with the Grand Prize for Best Film Music at the 19th Days of Croatian Film, for his score to “Zajedno”, directed by Nenad Puhovski.

Among his more prominent works are the entire score for the documentary miniseries “Hebrang” (d. Zoran Budak, 2010), and the score for the documentary film “Zaustavljeni glas” (d. Višnja Starešina, 2010), dealing with Radio Vukovar and its journalist Siniša Glavašević during the Croatian War of Independence. Currently, Grubačević is scoring his second feature, “Most na kraju svijeta” (The Bridge at the end of the world), directed by Branko Ištvančić, based on Josip Mlakić’s book “Čuvari mostova”. The film will have its premiere at the 2014 Pula Film Festival.
Dalibor Grubačević is a permanent member of the Croatian Composers’ Association (HDS) and the Croatian Music Union (HGU). He bases his writing on the classical orchestrational styles, utilizing also sythetized electronic sounds and instruments.
Grubačević had his first encounter with film composing back in 2004, when he started scoring documentary films and TV programs produced by Croatian Television, and writing main title and advertising music for many production companies.
Aside from his work on film music and TV clips, Grubačević has created successful relationships with many Croatian and international musicians as an arranger. First of those dates back to 2004, when he started collaborating with Macedonian composer, singer and producer Aleksandar Mitevski. In that year, he arranged the humanitarian song “Site sme nivni deca”, featuring many celebrities from the Macedonian pop music scene, including the legendary Toše Proeski. Over the ensuing years he continued arranging for artists such as Dario Pankovski (the album “Dario – 25 Live!”) and Aleksandar Mitevski (the album “Kirilica”), as well as Zoran Džorlev, for the song “Ne kažuvaj libe” on his eponymous album. In 2006, Grubačević arranged the song “Balada”, composed by Aleksandar Mitevski and performed by Arsen Dedić, and in 2011, he was hired by the Toše Proeski Foundation to write the string orchestra arrangement for a cover version of the song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, as performed by Toše Proeski.
Grubačević has also found great success working as a music producer. In 2008, he coproduced the album “Fulmination” for Croatia’s renowned ethno-blues musician Miroslav Evačić, which received a nomination for Croatia’s most prestigious musical award, the Porin. He also began collaborating, in 2010, with the Simply Brass Quintet from Zagreb, composing for them a two-movement piece entitled “Dvije rijeke” (I Drava, and II Mura), based on the tunes and motifs of the regions of Podravina and Međimurje. Grubačević also produced their album “Camminate”, released the same year on the Cantus label.

In May 2013. Grubacevic won dicography award “Porin” (Croatian music award) for the soundtrack album “In search of Marco Polo”.
