Reaper Auto-Punch Recording Tutorial Part 1/2 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 06, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Tutorial showing how to use time selection and selected item Punch-In recording in reaper to overdub or correct mistakes in a track. Also covers free item positioning as an overdub technique.

Warning: for some reason screen cam has not recorded the Reaper cursors that I am describing. These are very important in terms of what actions will take place so listen to my descriptions carefully and watch where my pointer is on the screen when I am making and adjustment. If your cursor is in the same place you should see the cursor I am describing.:

The key reaper cursors are:

1) -[ ]- Two brackets with a double arrow through - this will move in time, the join between items
2) an arc with two small arrows is used to open up the item volume envelope and adjust the timing of the fade in/out or the cross fade.
3) -]- a single bracket with double arrow is used to turn the fade in/fade out into a crossfade.
3) Be careful with the normal arrow pointer this may move the item in time, throwing it out of synch.
