"The Avenging Conscience," based on Poe's "Annabel Lee" and "The Tell-Tale Heart," is known as the first great American horror film. A young man yearns to escape from his overbearing, one-eyed uncle and plots to murder him. The young man and his lover are wracked by guilt and tormented by nightmares, ghosts, and demonic entities that drive them to more horrifying extremes.

C. Spencer Yeh (Burning Star Core) will perform a 'live mix' soundtrack to "The Avenging Conscience," collaging an array of live and pre-recorded sources. Alternately seething and subtle, the soundtrack will both accompany and play off this macabre tale.
