I got the attention of a radio promotions company and an international label and I need YOUR help to get my music on the radio and TV shows!

I'm Tasneem, but onstage I go by MALSI. In January, I released a record that I completely self-produced and self-funded. Last year, I self-funded my first ever EP and debut music video.

Since the release of my EP, I've been INCREDIBLY lucky to befriend and work with amazing collaborators who mixed and provided feedback on my project for free (!!). We worked long hours for many, many months because we believe in this endeavor. It's time for all of us to take the next big step for this album...

...and that includes you!

As I mentioned, I have been approached by a label and a radio promotions company since the release of Hades. These companies are interested in promoting me on the community and college radio spheres in the US (and on stations in the UK, Spain, and Portugal!) as well as providing me with the opportunity to have my music featured on TV shows on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, MTV, TLC, and others. This company has worked with 21 Pilots, Ingrid Michelson, and Imagine Dragons when those artists were starting out, which encourages me that I am making the right investment.

All of this will cost me an arm and a leg. To prevent me from selling those precious body parts, I invite you to become a part of my team and invest in my music.

THE LOGISTICS:

For the price of $2200, this promotions company will send hundreds of copies of my album to a network of radio stations with which they have built close ties and connections. After the radio campaign, they are sending my album to television shows potentially interested in using my music. I am also using this Kickstarter campaign as an opportunity to fundraise for my next music video for my album, and to produce 1000 CDs printed with my original cover art (see rewards!).

Being an artist - especially an independent artist - has a slew of risks and challenges. Music is an oversaturated market with tons of talent. It costs nothing to write a good song, but it's very expensive to see that song, or even album, produced at a level that is professional enough to have the chance of standing out. I self-funded all of my recording equipment, instruments, and live performance gear on my own. This alone cost a few thousand dollars. A decent voicebox, for example -which can create all those dope echo/dreamlike vocals I use - costs 500 bucks on average. Then come costs for PR, marketing, and branding. I've been very resourceful to cut costs, and now that my opportunities are picking up on a larger scale, I need the funds to keep pushing through.

There are countless musicians out there who deserve fundraising. I'm asking you to support me however much you can because I am one of them. By supporting me, you are also supporting the independent community at large because I work with other independent artists who also produce quality work. We all make this music because we want to share it with you, and by giving your support, you are saying that the music we make matters.
