Trevor Dunn - Reborn (Full Album) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 11, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
This is my story put to song. One of the most important things in my life is Rock and Roll music. It has been there for me through good and bad times. I believe music is a gift from God. I felt strongly about creating this album to document my experience for those close to me. This is the only way I knew how to do that.
One Foot In The Grave
In 2010, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). Over the next four years my kidneys slowly deteriorated to the point of failure. I was then required to start dialysis to stay alive. For a year, I was very ill, heavily medicated and in pain. I contemplated my life and wondered if God would let me to continue to live.
Devil Inside
January 28, 2016 was the day. My life changed from my kidney transplant. The demons inside that have plagued me for years came out and were replaced with a new functioning kidney. This was written with a Rock and Roll sense of humor.
The Gift
Sometimes in life, God sets up situations and divine meetings. Years before my knowledge of the terrible disease inside me, I met a very special family, the Grubers. We hit it off immediately and became close friends. When Sean and Shellece found out about my ailment, they wanted to help. Shellece went through the long screening process to give me the gift of a new kidney. God blessed me with these friends and they gave me a new life.
Emma
For years, I was in extreme pain from the PKD. I was prescribed pain medications including Morphine just to function. After the surgery, the pain I have had for years was now gone. Not knowing that I was about to face yet another battle, I began the process to cut the pain meds. Every time I attempted to cut the pills, the hold it had on me continued to call me back. Thankfully, I won the battle and completely kicked the drug. “Emma” is a street name for Morphine. Due to the color of the pill, it is often referred to as “Blues”. This gave me inspiration for the line “Devil’s daughter all dressed in blue”. If you did not know my story, you would think that I had a stalker. The truth is, Morphine had me, and when I tried to break from the addiction, she became a stalker and fought to not let me go. However, I did and left her behind.

Reborn
After the long process of recovering from the surgery, drug withdrawals, constant and close observation from Doctors, my life started to return. I could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. My head was clearing and I started to feel alive again. I saw a clean slate and my future was clear.
