Pine Bridge and Dyson in D Nunc Dimittis - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 08, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
Two favorite places within six days-"Pine Bridge", an abandoned railroad bridge converted to to a trail, the Kokosing Gap Trail in Knox County, Ohio, USA, was formerly bridge 97.36 of the Cleveland, Akron and Columbus Railway, ne Pennsylvania, Penn-Central and Conrail. It was reconstructed after the great flood of 1913 and sits in an isolated gorge between Gambier and Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

The music is the second canticle of evensong, the Nunc Dimittis, set to Dyson in D, and performed in St. John's Chapel, Cambridge with the combined choirs of St. John's and Clare at a joint evensong of 7 May 2009. I was privileged to attend this six days before walking down to the bridge. It is the sights, sounds and feelings of two of my most beloved places on this earth.

With kind and affectionate regards to Simon Jacobs, Senior Organ Scholar, Clare College, Cambrdge, and to the paper wasps that managed to chase me off the center pier. Enjoy.
