DESCRIPTION: The Moravian Trombone Choir of Downey, CA performs the beautiful music of organist and composer Christopher Wicks.
"The long middle section of this piece is indeed a strict eight-part canon, with each voice separated by a minor third. The brief opening and closing sections are similar to one another and have the tone of a fanfare. This piece was inspired by the Renaissance: not only by admiration for the contrapuntal feats of such composers as Josquin Desprez and Thomas Tallis in their choral music, but also by the boldness in their trombone writing of their Venetian Gabrielis."
